Here
is a review of the most popular mouthwashes and mouth rinses.
Keep in mind that these reviews are based on the author's
personal experience in addition to internet research on the
ingredients of each product.
Scope
Mouthwash Review - While Scope is one of the
best tasting mouthwashes, it does not offer much in
the form of benefits for your oral hygiene. Think of
this mouthwash as a big liquid breath mint. The active
ingredients are: Cetylpyridinium Chloride and Domiphen
Bromide and Alcohol. It's a fact that dry mouth is the
leading cause of bad breath. Any mouthwash with Alcohol
in it will dry your mouth thus eliminating it's benefits.

TheraBreath
Oral Rinse PLUS Review - By far my favorite
mouthwash. I've been using only strictly Therabreath
products now for almost 3 years. Alcohol Free, the main
active ingredients in this product are contrated forms
of OXYD-8, Zinc Gluconate, Tea Tree Oil, Natural Essential
Oil of Spearmint. Backed by lab tests and customer testomonials,
there's no chance of gonig wrong with Therabreath.

Colgate
Peroxyl Review - This is a relatively new alcohol-free
mouthwash to the market. They seem to have come out
with a small lineup of products that are targeted to
people with canker sores and sensitive gums. Smells
alot like a company trying to be like Therabreath. It's
a good try but not good enough. Peroxide is the featured
ingredient. |
Listerine
Review - When you think Listerine what do you
think of? 30 seconds of torture right? Ouch, this stuff
really burns. Why is that? Oh, because it's like drinking
straight alcohol. Remember what we said about alcohol?
Alcohol dries quickly. And what is the leading cause
of bad breath? Dry mouth is. While the advertised burn
does kill bacteria, this mouthwash seems to burn up
everything in your mouth throwing off your oral balance
and drying your mouth. As you may or may not be aware
of, Listerine now comes in different flavors in an attempt
to lessen the tingling and burning when using this product.

Crest
Pro-Health Rinse Review - And the winner for
the fanciest packaging of an oral health product is
(drumroll please......) Creast's Pro-Health Rinse. I'm
not going to get into bashing this product too much
but I will tell you a few things about it based on my
own personal experience. In my Sunday newspaper I spotted
a coupon for a free bottle of this mouthwash. I said
what the heck and went to my local Rite-Aid and scored
a bottle completely for free. This futuristic looking
bottle of oral magic juice was a big disappointment.
First off, why so much food coloring. Why is it that
so many mouthwashes have to add color to it? I want
clean white teeth not blue teeth. The flavor was pleasant
but when it was time to spit i noticed big gobs of blue
stuff every time I used this mouthwash. My tongue and
teeth were also dyed blue. |
